| | Youth and adults from Manna Ministries near Union City walked through downtown Union City carrying a large wooden cross at noon Friday — Good Friday — as they encouraged prayer for Obion County while also remembering Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection as they prepared to celebrate Easter. Manna Ministries member Jason Miller constructed the cross, which was moved by the group from the Obion County Courthouse to the church on the Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City. The community was invited to join the church members, many of whom carried signs with scriptures, as they moved the cross from the courthouse down Washington Avenue and then along East Church Street and East Main Street to Sunswept Baptist Church on South Sunswept Drive near the fairgrounds. From there, the cross was placed on a trailer to be moved the rest of the way to Manna Ministries for permanent display. | | | | |
