The deadlines for a poster contest for fourth-grade students and an essay contest for seventh-grade students in the Obion County and Union City school systems, sponsored by Obion County Farm Bureau Women, have been extended until Friday.
The poster contest theme, “Where Do We Get Our Food?” must appear at the top of the half sheet of posterboard, which may be used horizontally or vertically.
Objects used on the poster must not be raised more than one-eighth inch from the surface, and well-known or copyrighted characters may not be used.
The essay contest’s theme is “What Is a Farmer?”
The essay has a 300-word minimum and 500-word maximum. It must be typed and double-spaced, using a Times font style with a maximum point size of 12; and it must have a maximum of one-inch page margins. A cover page should be included with the following information: student’s first and last name, parents’ names, address, telephone number, school, teacher’s name and county.
All entries must be delivered to the Obion County Farm Bureau office at 1212 Stad Ave. in Union City by 4 p.m.
