Cultural arts winners named | Obion County Family and Community Education Club

Obion County Family and Community Education Club members recently participated in their annual cultural arts competition.
A total of 84 entries were made. First- and second-place award winners will compete in the FCE Cultural Arts Regional Competition in Jackson in July.
Winners included:
• Basketry — first place, Joyce Taylor; second place, Nita Simpson; and third place, Jane Fisher. All are Crystal FCE Club members.
• Beadwork — first place, Mrs. Simpson; second place, Nadine Killion; and third place, Frances Parmenter. All are Crystal FCE Club members.
• Crochet — first place, Mrs. Killion; second place, Diane Johnson; and third place, Mrs. Parmenter. All are Crystal FCE Club members.
• Cross-stitch (other) — first place, Mrs. Killion; and second place, Frances Allen, and third place, Betty Jo Luton, both Mason Hall FCE members.
• Decorative painting — first place, Mrs. Simpson; and second place, Mrs. Taylor.
• Dolls — first place, Misty Griffin, Mason Hall FCE; second place, Mary Lois Owens, Crystal FCE Club; and third place, Mrs. Simpson.
• Embroidery (hand) — first place, Mrs. Parmenter; second place, MariLee Little, Mason Hall FCE Club; and third place, Mrs. Owens.
• Fine art painting (watercolor) — second place, Mrs. Simpson.
• Fine art painting (pastels, acrylics) — first place, Mrs. Taylor.
• Handcrafted toy — first place, Charlotte Pierce, Mason Hall FCE; second place, Mrs. Simpson; and third place, Mrs. Owens.
• Hand stitching (other) — first place, Mrs. Killion; and second place, Mrs. Owens.
• Holiday decoration — first place, Mrs. Owens; second place, Mary Louis Davis, Mason Hall FCE; and third place, Mrs. Killion.
• Knitting (hand) — first place, Mrs. Killion.
• Needlepoint – first place, Mrs. Parmenter.
• Photography (color) — first place, Mrs. Taylor; second place, Mrs. Simpson; and third place, Mrs. Fisher.
• Quilts (baby and lap) — first place, Mrs. Allen.
• Quilts (machine pieced and hand quilted) — first place, Jeanette Proctor, Mason Hall FCE; and second place, Mrs. Davis.
• Quilts (specialty, embroidered) — first place, Mrs. Luton.
• Quilts (specialty, pillows) — first place, Mrs. Allen; and second place, Mrs. Davis.
• Quilts (other, wall hangings) — first place, Mrs. Killion.
• Quilts (any other) — first place, Mrs. Owens; second place, Ms. Griffin; and third place, Mrs. Killion.
• Sculpture — first place, Mrs. Parmenter; second place, Mrs. Owens; and third place, Mrs. Killion.
• Stained glass — first place, Mrs. Simpson; and second place, Mrs. Parmenter.
• Tatting — first place, Sherri Hanna, Crystal FCE Club; second and third places, Mrs. Fisher.

• Wood carving — first place, Mrs. Simpson.
