Jason Miller, a member of Manna Ministries, located on the Ken-Tenn Highway near Union City, has constructed a wooden cross and will be moving it from the Obion County Courthouse in Union City to the church, beginning at noon on Good Friday.
His purpose is to encourage prayer for Obion County.
The community is invited to join Miller and several youth from the congregation who will walking with him as he carries the cross, on foot, from the courthouse to Sunswept Baptist Church. That church is located at 205 South Sunswept Drive near the Obion County fairgrounds.
At that location, the cross will be placed on a trailer to be moved the remainder of the journey to Manna Ministiries, where it will be permanently displayed outside.
The journey with the cross on foot in town has been approved by the city and will have appropriate safety measures in place.
Miller hopes even those who cannot walk with him as he carries the cross will be reminded to pray.
