3 teens charged Posted: Wednesday, April 4, 2012 8:00 pm CLEVELAND (AP) — Three students have been sent to a juvenile detention center after setting off a homemade explosive device in a school cafeteria in Bradley County. No one was injured in the incident Tuesday morning at Lake Forest Middle School. Two 14-year-old students and a 15-year-old were charged with possession of a weapon on school property and reckless endangerment. Investigators said two students brought household chemicals and a plastic bottle to school, combined the items in the bottle and gave it to a third student who tossed it into a trash container. A chemical reaction caused the device to explode. The students said they learned about the device in a YouTube video. Published in The Messenger 4.4.12 |
