UTM duo awarded by OVC

Leah Taylor and Chelsea Jones, two members of the UT Martin softball team have been recognized by the Ohio Valley Conference.
Junior outfielder Leah Taylor of Brownsville was named the adidas Co-OVC Player of the Week.
Senior Chelsea Jones of Tullahoma was named the adidas OVC Pitcher of the Week.
Taylor had at least one RBI in all five games this past week. She drove in all three runs against Southeast Missouri with her first-inning three-run home run. She walked once in 16 at-bats and did not strike out. She was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI in the finale with Tennessee State. She also went 4-for-4 on the base paths.
Jones pitched three complete games for the second straight week. She went 3-0 in her three starts and won the second game of the TSU series when she relieved freshman Casey Vincent.
Jones posted a 0.71 ERA and struck out 14 batters and walked just one in 19.2 innings of action. With her four wins, she is now No. 2 in career victories (46) at UT Martin.
