Peggy Jean (Parr) Tucker, 80, of Hornbeak died March 30, 2012, at her home.
Services were 2 p.m. Sunday at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with Bobby Stewart officiating. Burial followed in Cobb’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wilson Darnell Jr., Sam Edmiston, James Whaley, Chris Norman, Tucker Vaughan, Gary Boyett, Penn Vaughan and David Perkins.
She was born July 21, 1931, in the Dixie community, daughter of the late Carlos and Roxie (Summar) Parr. She married Jerry Summers Tucker May 18, 1948. He died Aug. 13, 2003. She retired in 1993 from the former Hornbeak school and Black Oak School. She had worked in the local schools for more than 40 years.
She was a member of Troy’s Main Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Frances and David Perkins of Tiptonville, Molly and Gary Boyett of Kenton and Betty and Penn Vaughan of Wildwood, Mo.; eight grandchildren, Corrie Boyett of Jackson, Mandy Norman of Yorkville, Ali Perkins of Hornbeak, Aby (Perkins) Garrigus of Dresden, Amy (Perkins) Scott of Tampa, Fla., Ashley Vaughan of St. Louis and Emilie Vaughan and Tucker Vaughan, both of Wildwood; three great-grandchildren, Alex Mann, Colin Norman and Brody Norman, all of Yorkville; two sisters, Patsy Todd of Union City and Frances Clark of Oklahoma City; three brothers, Bobby Parr of Hornbeak, Tommy Parr of Troy and Donnie Parr of South Fulton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carlos Parr Jr. and Billy Parr.
