The 10th annual model train display is scheduled for April 7. This is a free show courtesy of Stephen Chappell and Jimmy Carrington, known as C&C Railroaders of Sharon. The display will be at the Greenfield Community Center located at the corner of 54 and Second streets. The building is number 114. The show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. They are running “O” scale trains. Trains are Industrial Rail, Lionel, MTH, Williams, K-Line, and Marx. If you need information regarding the event, contact Stephen Chappell at 456-2724 between 3-8 p.m. If you want your information in our birthday and anniversary list, email or call me. On Friday, Wanda and Coleman Hamblin will celebrate their anniversary. On Sunday, Haley Bostwick and Marie Hoskins will celebrate their birthdays. On Monday, Pat Jones will celebrate a birthday. And on Tuesday, Cameron Clark will celebrate a birthday. It’s getting close. Time to be cleaning out the closets, attics and storage places. The 10th annual citywide yard sale is less than a month away. The date is April 28. There is a $5 participation fee for 10×10 spaces and may be paid at Sharon City Hall. Remember, it’s a good idea to reserve your spot early. For further information and to pay your fee, contact Nancy Elinor at 514-8761 or Penny Branson at 456-3043. Mark your calendars. This promises be the biggest yard sale yet. Treasures will be found all over town and even on the outskirts of town. Come one and come all to these yard sales. Remember that April 28 you want to be in Sharon. Have you been looking for someone to just play cards with you or visit with you? Then I have the place for you. Try our Sharon Senior Center if you want to socialize. Age is not a factor at the center. Many people of different ages are found there. All you need to do is stop in and check it out. Why don’t you come out and meet the gang? At the center they play cards, games, dominoes, ping-pong and many other activities. Be sure to stop by and pick up the prepared calendar so you know the dates of the activities and of any closings. If you need information about the Sharon Senior Center, call 456-2213. The thought for the week comes from a Michael J. Fox quote, “If you fixate on the worst-case scenario, and it actually happens, you have lived it twice.” If you have a thought you would like to share with the readers, email or call and I will put it in my article. My email is jaegardner@frontiernet.net and phone number is 456-9823. Well, that is all the news from the Sharon community. Remember to continue to pray for one another, our community and our military. May God have mercy on our land and bless you all. Published in the WCP 3.29.12
