A Union City man and his young daughter were injured in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon on East County Home Road near Union City.
James Andrew “Jamie” Curlin III, 30, and daughter Baylee sustained injuries in an accident that occurred about 3:15 p.m. just west of Union City on East County Home Road, near Latimer Road, according to a Tennessee Highway Patrol report.
Curlin was westbound entering a curve on East County Home Road when his 2000 Jeep Cherokee ran off the north side of the roadway. The vehicle traveled into a ditch and struck a tree, then overturned and struck another tree.
The THP reported Curlin was initially transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital and Baylee was airlifted to Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis for treatment of serious injuries. Sources indicated Baylee was undergoing surgery today for a leg injury.
The accident remains under investigation by THP Trooper Nicholas Hollowell.
