Prince is ‘pitcher’ perfect for Lady Chargers

Meagan Prince had a perfect day on Friday.
The Westview pitcher went 15-up and 15-down for a perfect game against Gibson County in a 10-0 win.
The game ended after the top of the fifth inning on the run rule.
Prince was nearly untouchable as she struck out 12 of the 15 batters she faced with three ground-outs.
Of her 65 pitches, 45 were strikes, including 12 first-pitch strikes.
While Prince was overpowering the Lady Pioneer lineup, Westview’s batters were pounding GC pitchers with nine hits while also taking advantage of four errors.
Alex Crosser led the Lady Chargers’ power surge with a home run, double, two RBI and two runs.
Prince helped herself by going 2-for-3, while Kayla Guthrie was 2-for-3 with two runs and Holly Morris was also 2-for-3 with a run.
Melanie Davis scored three runs for Westview.
The Lady Chargers scored a run in the first inning and three more in the third for a a 4-0 lead.
Westview then exploded for six runs in the bottom of the fourth, and Prince capped off her perfect game by striking out the side in the top of the fifth.
She also struck out the side in the second and third innings.
