It was a ‘Lucky 13’ for Obion Central.
Actually, though, there was no luck involved.
The Rebels scored 10 first-half goals on their way to a 13-0 romp over visiting Gibson County Monday afternoon in prep soccer.
Eric Torres was a one-man show for OC with six goals and four assists, helping his team improve to 2-1.
In another match involving an Obion County entry Monday, South Fulton and Dyer County battled to a 1-all tie.
Today’s slate has Obion Central playing host to Ripley at 6 p.m., while SF welcomes Milan for a match at the same time.
The following is a recap of Monday’s action.
OC 13, Gibson County 0
Victor Guerrero had a big day for the Rebels, too, scoring three times and handing out two assists.
Conner Rinker, Jackson Smith, Jared Hopson and Andrew Ferrell also found the net for OC.
Central led 10-0 at the half and outshot the visiting Pioneers all totaled 35-3.
Starting goalie Samuel Smith was not tested for the victors, while Alex Terrell had three saves later in the match.
In addition to today’s date with Ripley, Obion Central will host South Fulton Friday in a 6 p.m. meeting.
SF 1, Dyer County 1
Easton Wolf scored the Red Devils’ lone goal in the second half after taking a feed from teammate Jalen Sowell.
There was no score by either team in the first half.
