DYERSBURG — The second American Business Women’s Association Girls’ Night Out event to raise money to provide scholarships to Dyersburg State Community College students is planned for Thursday from 5-8 in the college gymnasium.
More than 50 vendors, including businesses and independent consultants from Dyer, Crockett, Obion, Lauderdale and Lake counties, will have booths, ranging from clothing to home accessories to beauty supplies. The event is sponsored by the Southern Accent Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association.
“With almost double the number of vendors from last year, this year is sure to be double the fun and excitement as well,” a spokesman said, adding, “The fundraiser, which provides scholarships for DSCC students who need help with tuition, offers local women a chance to enjoy an evening out with the girls.”
Last year’s event allowed the organization to award two scholarships.
Admission is $5 and includes the opportunity for all attendees to have a chance to win one of the more than 50 door prizes, which are donated by the vendors.
Tickets will be available at the door or they may be purchased in advance at the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce or from any ABWA member.
