Main Street Union City is working in conjunction with local merchants, businesses and organizations to promote Earth Day. Obion County Earth Day Celebration 2012 will consist of several days of events designed to raise awareness of both recycling and consumer recourses in our own community.
Events scheduled April 18-21 will include a community contest sponsored by local businesses, an appearance by Miss Teen Earth, access to many area recycling drop-off locations, lunch in the park and a fun event for children of the community.
For more information on the event contact the Main Street office at 885-8330.
“We’re excited about the possibilities for celebrating Earth Day and hope the community will join us in this variety of activities as we focus on taking care of the planet and its resources,” said Main Street executive director Phyllis Rauchle. Published in The Messenger 3.28.12
