Completed arrangements are being announced today for Brenda Kay (Archie) Dawson, 61, of Troy, who died March 26, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Ararat Cemetery near Troy.
Friends may call 11 a.m. until the funeral hour Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Pate, Clyde Pate, Ricky Burton, Randy Burton, Troy Kinninmonth, Chad Dawson and Josh Dawson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Edwards, Steve McCullough, Dave Ford and Larry Northam.
The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge at 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN 37203.
She was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Obion County, daughter of the late Harvey Archie and the late Ann (Litchford) Graves. She married Jerry Dawson July 9, 1993. He survives. She was a graduate of Obion County Central High School and was a homemaker.
She is also survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Candi McCloud of Union City and Tammy and Alan Gatewood of St. Augustine, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brayden and Evan McCloud of Union City and Cassidy Gatewood of St. Augustine; three sisters and the spouse of one, Barbara Ashe and Doris and Eddie Roberson, all of Troy, and Shirley Barnes of Union City; a half-sister, Patricia Gwaltney of Troy; a half-brother, James Archie of Troy; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Leora Horn and the staff at Vanderbilt Hospital.
