Field office awarded | Union City USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, Obion County Soil Conservation District

Field Office Awarded — The Union City USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the Obion County Soil Conservation District (SCD) staff recently attended the Tennessee Association of Conservation Districts annual convention at the Double Tree Hotel in Jackson. The office staff received the Earth Team Field Award. This award is presented to the office staff which utilizes volunteers to help with the conservation efforts of the county and to educate the volunteers. On hand for the presentation were (front, from left) Bobbi Campbell, Obion SCD district secretary; Kevin Brown, NRCS state conservationist; (back) Matthew Denton, NRCS district conservationist; and Leon Tillman, NRCS soil conservationist. Other award recipients included Nearlene Bass, and Tony Tinker, NRCS soil conservationists. Tillman also received the Earth Team Volunteer Coordinator of the Year Award. This award is presented to the Earth Team coordinator who is dedicated to building a strong Earth Team and utilizing volunteers to help with conservation efforts. Ms. Campbell received a Special Years of Service Award, for 20 years of service to the Obion County Soil Conservation District.
