Kentucky library hosts Edible Book Festival Posted: Monday, March 26, 2012 8:00 pm WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. (AP) — It’s not uncommon to say someone has “devoured” a book, but in this case, it can be taken literally. The University of the Cumberlands Hagan Memorial Library in Williamsburg, Ky., is participating this year in the International Edible Book Festival on April 2 to encourage visits to the library. The library is asking people to come and bring an edible book. Judges will evaluate them and prizes will be given away. The university’s reference and instruction librarian, Carrie Byrd, says the event is a good way to let people know the library offers more than books to check out and computers to check email and is part of the campus community. Registration deadline to participate is Monday. For more information, visit http://ucumberlands.libguides.com/ediblebooks. Published in The Messenger 3.26.12 , |
