Wiseman to speak at UTM

Jennifer Wiseman, program scientist for the Hubble space telescope at NASA headquarters, will speak to the University of Tennessee at Martin on her work with star-forming regions of our galaxy at 7:30 p.m. on March 29 in Watkins Auditorium, Boling University Center.
Wiseman is known for her research as a Jansky Fellow at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory and as a Hubble Fellow at Johns Hopkins University. She also discovered the Wiseman-Skiff comet in 1987.
She was selected as the 2001-02 Congressional Science Fellow of the American Physical Society and served on the staff of the Science Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Wiseman received a bachelor’s degree in physics from MIT and a doctorate in astronomy from Harvard University.
Her lecture is free and open to the public as part of the Academic Speaker series, hosted by UT Martin Honors Programs.
