Dan McDonough  Jr. and Gian Garma, piano students of Dr. Elaine Harriss of Martin, won honors at the 2012 University of Tennessee at Martin pre-college piano competition held March 3 in Watkins Auditorium in the Boling University Center.
McDonough was named first-place winner in junior high solo and Garma received an honorable mention in the same solo category.
Garma and McDonough also performed piano duets and were named first-place winners in the ensemble category.
Both students are from Martin.
McDonough is the son of Dan and Alecia McDonough and Garma is the son of Victor and Petchie Garma. Published in The WCP 3.22.12
