Completed arrangements are being announced for Robert “Inky” Thompson, 45, of Union City, who died March 22, 2012, at his home.
Services will be noon Saturday at Greater Victory Free Will Baptist Church in Union City, with visitation set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in East View Cemetery.
Phillip Sanders will officiate. Pallbearers will be James Marsha, Kenny McClane, Kelly Macklon, Robert Fulton, James Milligan and Trene Knight. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, James Gary, Cornelius McElrath and Treon McElrath.
Rawls Funeral Home in Union City is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Sept. 9, 1966, in Union City, son of Willie Mae Thompson and the late Montrel Thompson Sr.
A U.S. Army veteran, he had been a cook at the former Searcy Restaurant and was a member of Right Path Ministries.
He is also survived by four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Frances and Earnest Roberson, Mary Abbott, Barbara and James Puckett and Mental and Willie Ross; his brother, Montrel Thompson Jr.; six nieces, four nephews; eight great-nieces; seven great-nephews; and several other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Pearline Turner; and his brother, Dennis James Tharpe.
