RIDGEDALE, Mo. — Regional restaurants and chefs will compete in the Big Cedar Chili Cook-Off for bragging rights and to raise monies for Share Our Strength®, a national nonprofit working to end childhood hunger in America.
On April 14 from 1-4 p.m., guests can sample chili and cast their vote for the best by placing a $5 raffle ticket in their favorite chef’s jar. General admission and one raffle ticket is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Additional raffle tickets may be purchased. To purchase an advanced ticket call 1-800-225-6343.
Participating restaurants, to date, include Bass Pro Shops, Branch Bistro, Chateau on the Lake, College of the Ozarks, Cooks Kettle, Devil’s Pool Restaurant, Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, Highlands Springs Country Club, Hy-Vee Groceries, Millwood Country Club, Ozark Technical College, The Rebecca Grille and Twin Oaks Country Club.
There are more than 16 million children in America who struggle with hunger. That’s one in five. They go to bed hungry at night, have trouble concentrating in school, get sick more often and suffer other lifelong consequences.
