Miss Fuqua to wed McClure on June 30 Posted: Thursday, March 22, 2012 8:00 pm The engagement and forthcoming marriage of Abbie Marie Fuqua of Martin and Dustin Glen McClure of Henry are being announced today. The bride-elect is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip W. Fuqua of Martin. Her grandparents are Van and Brenda Hazlewood and Richard and Barbara Fuqua, all of Martin. She is a 2009 graduate of Westview High School in Martin. She plans to graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education K-6 from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She is currently completing her student teaching experience in the Weakley County and Union City school systems. While attending UT Martin, she has been actively involved in Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Chi Omega fraternity and SOAR staff and served as a PEP leader. She represents UT Martin as a McWherter scholar, was recently selected as Who’s Who Among Students in America’s Colleges and Universities and will be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi honors fraternity in April. The groom-elect is the son of Dennis and Susan McClure of Henry. His grandparents are Henrietta Clemonteen and the late Glen McClure, both of Paris, and Gordon McFadden and the late Bobbye Lee McFadden of Henry. He is a 2007 graduate of Henry County High School in Paris. He earned a bachelor of science degree in health and human performance from UT Martin in December 2011. He is employed with Tosh Farms, Martin Sow Unit, as a breeding department associate. He volunteers as an assistant coach for the Cal Ripkin baseball league. The couple will wed 2:30 p.m. June 30 at Second Baptist Church in Union City. Music will begin at 2. A reception will immediately follow at The Lindell in Martin.
