International Tenors to perform in Jackson Posted: Wednesday, March 21, 2012 8:00 pm The International Tenors will perform in Jackson at the Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center, located at 314 East Main St., Friday at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Box Office — $20 for students and seniors, with other tickets costing $25. “It’s everything you could hope to hear in a three-tenor concert: opera, musical theater, operetta and pop … performed as only true tenors can, with authenticity and a little humor,” a spokesman said. The tenors will perform on stage with a big screen showing scenes and footage of Italy, Spain and France and of favorite artists in an incredible show coupled with a multimedia video. The show also has a stirring tribute to the famous tenors of the past: Enrico Caruso, Mario Lanza and, of course, Luciano Pavarotti. These are dubbed the voice of the century. The tenors will also perform an animated and fun-loving set of the most beloved three tenor songs and arias, “O Sole Mio,” “La Donna Mobile,” and the drinking song, “Libiamo” and a medley of favorite musical theater numbers, from shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera,” “West Side Story” and “Les Miserables.” The International Tenors will then switch gears and perform some of the world’s greatest pop/opera hits. They’ll round the entire show out with the song that made Pavarotti a household name, “Nessun Dorma.” Call the box office at (731) 425-8527 to buy tickets. Published in The Messenger 3.21.12 , |
