Completed arrangements are being announced for Gene Anton, 55, of the Walnut Log community, who died 1:10 p.m. March 18, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Samburg Assembly of God. B.J. Cohn and the Rev. George Hutchison will officiate. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Memphis, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the church 5-10 p.m. Wednesday.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born May 24, 1956, in Shelby County, son of Patricia (Quimby) Anton of Walls, Miss., and the late Frederick Sills Anton. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1974 to 1982 as a Navy SEAL. He was a member of the American Legion and Samburg Assembly of God and was employed as a maintenance instructor at Tennessee Technological Center in Newbern.
He is also survived by his wife, Sonya (Robey) Anton, whom he married July 2, 1992; three sons, Alex Anton, Austin Anton and Dillon Anton, all of the Walnut Log community; his sister, Vicki (Anton) Rivera of Walls; and his brother, Steve Anton of Walls.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy (Anton) Judkins; and his brother, George Anton.
