Eddie J. Watkins, 89, of Kenton passed away from this life March 18, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Kenton, with Dr. Brian Robertson officiating. Interment will follow there in Sunnyside Cemetery. Military honors will be observed.
The family will receive friends 5-8:30 p.m. today at Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Kenton.
He was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Obion County, son of the late Eddie Lee and Ethel (White) Watkins. He worked as a fork lift operator for Campbell’s Co. Mr. Watkins served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Claudean (Crews) Watkins; his daughter, Beverly Lukacs; his grandson and his wife, Michael Edward and Gina Lukacs; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie B. Watkins; and two sisters, Margie Turner and Ruth Crowell.
