GILBERTSVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Authorities have suspended their search for a missing fisherman on the Tennessee River.
The move comes after the Marshall County Rescue Squad searched the area in western Kentucky for nearly two weeks.
The Paducah Sun reports (http://bit.ly/FQ3TB1) Rescue Squad Chief Carl Curtner said in a statement Sunday that workers would resume searching for 63-year-old Gene May if new information arises or when the water recedes enough to search along the river bank.
Crews had been looking for two brothers reported missing after their pontoon boat had engine trouble and flipped after drifting too close to an open spillway while they were fishing below the Kentucky Dam on March 6.
The body of 65-year-old James May was recovered on Saturday. Another man, 70-year-old Roy May, survived.
