Dorothy (Dudley) Reed, 96, of Union City died March 16, 2012, at Etheridge House Assisted Living in Union City.
Services were set for 1 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stan Waldon officiating. Burial was to follow in East View Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be Jerry Green, Ronnie Joe Carson, Don Garrison, Mickey Smith, Ken Davis and Charles Kirkland.
The family requests that memorials be made to Union City First United Methodist Church.
She was born Dec. 5, 1915, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of the late Carlos S. and Lotta (Summerwell) Dudley.
She married John R. Reed Dec. 25, 1935. He died Nov. 14, 1997. She had been a teacher and an investment secretary for Edward D. Jones brokerage firm for more than 20 years.
She was a member of Union City First United Methodist Church, the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class, Circle Four of United Methodist Women and The Review Club.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn and E. Lindsay Brown III of Lake Mary, Fla.; four grandchildren and the spouse of one, Bethany Brown and Brent Brown, both of Lake Mary, Pam and Mickey Smith of Union City and Randy Brown of Augusta, Ga.; and three great-grandchildren, Lindsay Smith of Knoxville and Russ Smith and Laura Reed Smith, both of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Dustin Dudley.
