Train accident claim senior’s life

TRADGEDY ON TRACKS – Martin Fire Department, Martin Police Department and Weakley County Ambulance Service work to stabilize a 74-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a train near North Davis Street in Martin around 4:20 Wednesday afternoon. The victim suffered injuries to her left side and potential head injuries. She was transported by ambulance to Volunteer Community Hospital before being flown by Air Evac Lifeteam to The Med in Memphis. She later died in Memphis. The victim was Marjorie (Crutchfield) Irvine. According to a press release issued by the MPD, the incident remains under investigation.
