Three men have been charged with murder in connection with the death of a man who was found severely beaten alongside a highway in Fulton County, Ky., last fall. Derek Moore, 30, of Cunningham, Ky., was found beaten Sept. 24, 2011, on the side of U.S. Highway 51 in Fulton County, according to the Kentucky State Police. He later died at a Nashville hospital as a result of the injuries and KSP investigators have since been conducting a murder investigation. The KSP arrested three men Thursday in connection with the murder, which apparently occurred in neighboring Hickman County, Ky. Arrested were Kendrick Hunt, 20, and Jeremy Irons, 25, both of Clinton, Ky., and Connel Mounday, 26, of Paducah, Ky. Each was charged with capital murder, capital kidnapping and first-degree robbery. The arrests came after state police investigators gave testimony Thursday to a Hickman County grand jury in regard to their investigation and the grand jury indicted the men for their alleged roles. After the arrests, Hunt and Irons were lodged in the Hickman County Detention Center, while Mounday was lodged in the McCracken County (Ky.) Detention Center. The investigation of the death is continuing by KSP detective Kyle Nall. The Hickman County Sheriff’s Office and Clinton Police Department have also assisted state police.
