Senior Friends meet in Troy

Senior Friends of Cobb’s Chapel United Methodist Church met recently at Autry’s County Kitchen in Troy. A Valentine’s theme was carried out and special treats were provided to those who attended.
Those who enjoyed the outing included the Rev. Terry English, who gave thanks for the meal; Ursla Luker, who presented the devotional; John Luker; Anna Mae Muse; Maudie Byrd; Norval and Virginia Cranford; Ilar and Mattie Lou Moran; Faye Howard; Clen Reavis; Virginia Smithson; Trixie Heidelberg; Junior and Betty Davis; Louise Jackson; Carnice Guy; Ada Martha Cleek; Mozelle Flippen; Mary K. McKinnis; Janette Criswell; Nancy Rivers; Leon McCullough; Evelyn Rudd; Cy and Etta Harris; and Mary Nichols.
In honor of Presidents Day, Harris spoke of the 28 years he served in the U.S. Navy, with 23 of those years devoted to playing in the Naval Academy Band. He had the honor of playing for six presidents.
Readings were presented by Mrs. Moran and the group joined her in celebrating Moran’s birthday.
The group will meet at Autry’s Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. for another outing.
