Joyce Jones, 78, of Troy died 1:30 p.m. March 13, 2012, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
A memorial services will be held at a later date. Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Mrs. Jones was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Dyer County, daughter of the late Ed and Pearl (Jackson) Lock. She was the widow of Buddy Jones. A graduate of Union City High School, she received her degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She worked for the former Black & White/Shainbergs Department Store in Union City. From there she went to work for the former Lear-Siegler as payroll manager until the company closed down operations in this area. She moved to Memphis where she worked for Cook Industries in accounting until she went to work for Macy’s as executive accountant until she retired in 2001. In 2006 she moved back to Troy.
She is survived by two nephews, Phillip Scarborough of Troy and Robert Pruitt of Union City.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bill Jones; her sister, Alda Pruitt and her brother, Charlie Lock.
