Open arena nights, where members can practice or just hang out with friends; game nights, where riders compete in games on horseback; and point shows, where members can show that their hard work and practice has paid off, are scheduled March through August. March events include open arena 7-11 p.m. Friday, work day 9 a.m. Saturday, open arena 7-11 p.m. March 23, points show 1 p.m. March 24 and open arena 7-11 p.m. March 30. This year’s board officers and members include president, Teresa Burkett of Trenton; vice president, Jason Shaver of Gibson; secretaries, Suanna Geater and Natalie Temple, both of Trenton; treasurer, Lisa Shaver of Gibson; and members, Liz Whitmore of Martin, Terresa Vanover of Gadsden, Chris Temple of Trenton and Darrell Thompson of Jackson. There have been several changes made this year concerning age groups in the points show classes, a spokesman said, adding the amount of work hours to qualify for year-end awards has been decreased.
