Nashville — It’s an annual event that attracts hundreds of future brides looking for a great deal. It’s probably the only place in town where you can get a designer wedding gown worth $6,000 for less than $400.
Goodwill’s third annual Wedding Gala is set for Saturday from 6-9 a.m. at the Goodwill’s Rivergate store in Madison. This year, there are about 300 wedding gowns all priced between $59 and $399. Most of them were donated by area bridal boutiques and have never been worn.
Last year, more than 500 brides-to-be shopped during the three-hour sale, but many showed up hours before the doors opened. In fact, a line started forming outside the store at 10:30 the night before. When the event ended, more than 170 future brides had found their dream dress.
If future brides have already found their dream dress, but they’re still in the market for accessories, there is a huge selection of veils, jewelry and shoes. And the wedding party can also cash in on the savings. There will be bridesmaids dresses, flower girl dresses and dresses for the mothers of the bride and groom, all priced under $30. Teenagers looking for a deal can also find prom dresses.
