Fulton meeting set

The Messenger, March 12, 2012 Fulton City Commission will meet 5:45 p.m. today in the commission room at Fulton City Hall. Items on the agenda include: • approval of minutes of the Feb. 27 regular meeting and the March 9 called meeting; • approval of vouchers; • discussion of housing authority; • discussion of final proposal from Blackstone Towers Partners; • discussion of radio bids; • discussion of fire chief’s request to use budgeted capital expense for a different purpose; • discussion of the sewer rehab project; • discussion related to filling four vacancies on the Tourism and Convention Commission; • discussion on filling a vacancy on the Fulton Electric Plant Board; • discussion on filling two vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Board; • discussion on the county’s obligation to employ, appoint or contract with an animal control officer, plus establishing and maintaining an animal shelter; • discussion of the vision for the city and establishment of the mayor/commission’s specific goals; • second reading of an ordinance to amend the city code to change the regular city commission meeting dates; • second reading of an ordinance regarding the implementation and administration of an occupational license and administrative fee; • first reading of an ordinance to dissolve the Park Board; Other business, as presented by guests, the city manager, commissioners, the city attorney and the mayor, will also be considered. The session is open to the public.
