The county’s assistant public defender has joined forces with the District Attorney General’s office.
Colin Johnson, a long-time attorney from Dresden, has joined the staff of the 27th Judicial District Attorney General’s office as a full-time assistant district attorney general.
Johnson had served as the 27th Judicial District’s assistant public defender since 1998.
Johnson is a graduate of Rhodes College and Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law at Memphis State University. He was admitted to practice in 1991. He is a member of the Dresden Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Dresden Rotary Club and also serves as president of the Weakley County Backpack Program.
Johnson and his wife LeAnne have one daughter, Anna Lee.
“I am very fortunate to have on my staff a man with the experience and qualifications of Mr. Johnson. He is an excellent lawyer who will be an asset to the criminal justice system and the citizens of Weakley and Obion counties,” District Attorney General Tommy Thomas said.
