Maj. Gen. Mike Maloan of Martin has retired from the Tennessee National Guard. Maloan received the Minuteman Award upon his retirement.

Nashville – Martin resident Maj. Gen. William Maloan, who served as the Deputy Commander, Joint Force Headquarters, Tennessee Army National Guard, retired Feb. 17, in ceremonies at the Tennessee National Guard Joint Force Headquarters.
Gen. Maloan has served as the Deputy Commander since June 2007. He also serves as Presiding Judge and Chancellor of the 27th Judicial District for Weakley and Obion counties.
Maloan received his Juris Doctor, Law, from Memphis State University in 1974; and a direct commission in 1988 in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Prior to receiving his commission, he served as an enlisted member of the 164th Support Squadron, Tennessee Air National Guard.
His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, five Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
He resides in Martin with his wife Sharon.
