| Maj. Gen. William “Mike” Maloan of Weakley County, who served as the deputy com-mander, Joint Force Head-quarters for the Tennessee Army National Guard, retired recently in ceremonies at the Tennessee National Guard Joint Force Headquarters. Maloan has served as the deputy commander since June 2007. He also serves as presiding judge and chancellor of the 27th Judicial District for Weakley and Obion counties. Maloan received his juris doctor, law, from the former Memphis State University in 1974 and a direct commission in 1988 in the Judge Advocate General’s Corps. Prior to receiving his commission, he served as an enlisted member of the 164th Support Squadron, Tennessee Air National Guard. His awards include Meritorious Service Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medal, five Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Reserve Medal.
