Music lovers are invited to attend a special concert in honor of composer John Cage, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Martin single reed studio and percussion ensemble.
The tribute concert is set  for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in Watkins Auditorium of Boling University Center and is meant to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Cage’s birth.
The ensemble and studio will perform pieces from several of Cage’s compositional periods, including “In a Landscape,” “Dreams” and “Living Room Music.”
The percussion ensemble is under the direction of Dr. Julie Hill and the single reed studio is under the direction of Dr. Amy Simmons, both associate professors of music.
The concert is free.
