The 20th Century Club of Martin met recently at the C.E. Weldon Public Library in downtown Martin.
Hostesses for the event were Betty Henderson and Audrey Roberts.
They served a wonderful dessert plate and decorated using a Valentine theme.
The group was very happy to have Glenda Caudle and Larry Snider with them telling of the final plans with the Discovery Park in Union City, opening in 2013.
The afternoon was spent listening to how the community can have this park in its backyard.
The gardens will be so beautiful.
The museum will include cars from each decade and, of great interest, was the knowledge of having an airplane used at Everett-Stewart Airport in the 40’s to train pilots.
It will be a great educational experience for children and adults.
There will be experiences that, in the past, people had to drive hundreds of miles to see.
A business meeting was held, with Joy Adams letting the group know Teresa Warmath and Gail Smith would serve on the nominating committee and be ready to say “yes” when asked to served.
The group welcomed Kitty Soder as a visitor.
The 20th Century Club was led in the collect, then dismissed.
