Riding lessons offered at UTM Posted: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 9:08 am Community members interested in learning the fundamentals of horse safety and horsemanship are encouraged to schedule private lessons through the University of Tennessee at Martin. Individual lessons will cover the handling and grooming of horses, as well as riding equipment, western/English riding styles and the relationship of riding to both physical and mental well-being. No prior riding experience is necessary, but participants must be at least seven years of age. Long pants and boots with a heel are required to participate. Riding helmets will be provided. The registration fee is $35 for an hour lesson with a half-hour of riding time. After payment has been made, instructors will contact participants to schedule lessons at your convenience.
