Completed arrangements are being announced for Kathryne Sims, 96, of Union City, who died Feb. 22, 2012, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.
Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Union City First United Methodist Church, with the Revs. John Archer and Stan Waldon officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery in Murray, Ky.
The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
White-Ranson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Herman Jenkins, Jim Glasgow, Sonny Yarbrough, Darrin Clark, Max Rogers, Darryl Clark and Jackie Butterworth. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Margaret Carter Sunday School Class at Union City First United Methodist Church.
The family requests that memorials be made to the church.
She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Calloway County, Ky., daughter of the late Luther Nolan and Herma (Lawrance) Butterworth. The widow of James Oliver Sims, she was a retired employee of the former Lee Shop in Union City and was a member of Union City First United Methodist Church and Margaret Carter Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Tommy Chrisp of Union City; her daughter-in-law, Carol Sims of Murray; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jan and Mike Barnett of Hazel, Ky., Gaye and Randy Scott of Murfreesboro, Janee and Rob Brown of Lexington, Ky., Stephanie and Benn Stewart of Nashville and Jason and Dana Sims of Ooltewah; six great-grandchildren, Brian Barnett of Murray, Kristin Barnett of Knoxville, James William Stewart of Nashville, Annie Brown of Lexington, Ky., and Aiden Sims and Gabe Sims, both of Ooltewah.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Ray Sims; four sisters, Addie Scott, Robbie Washer, Lydia Miller and Sylvia Miller Dill; and four brothers, Cloys Butterworth, Vernon Butterworth, Osro Butterworth and Lloyd Butterworth.
