Lady Rebs hosting
The Obion County Central girls will host Chester County in the quarterfinal round of the Region 7AA Tournament 7 p.m. Friday.
Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. with no one allowed in before that time.
Only reserved chair back season ticket holders can purchase advance tickets, which will be on sale during normal school hours until noon Friday.
All other tickets can be purchased at the door. Ticket prices are $5.
The Messenger will publish a complete tournament bracket for both boys and girls — after today’s coaches meeting to finalize the event — in Thursday’s sports section.
Local AYSO group
The local AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) will hold a planning session Monday at 6 p.m. at the Obion County Public Library.
The group has a handful of board member slots open and volunteers are needed for the upcoming season, according to a organization spokesperson.

Fulton Rotary Club
to host scramble
The Fulton Rotary Club 4-person golf scramble will be held Friday, April 27th, at the Fulton Country Club.
Lunch starts at 11:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 1 p.m.
All proceeds benefit the Fulton Rotary Club Scholarship Fund.
Entry fee is $200 per team and includes green fee, cart, lunch (Southern Reds) and mulligans.
The field is limited to the first 36 paid teams.
There will be a $10,000 hole in one prize along with various other prizes.

Newsome gets 4th
OVC weekly honor
Jasmine Newsome, a sophomore guard at UT Martin has been named the adidas women’s Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week.
Newsome averaged 22.5 points, 10 rebounds and 9.0 assists in UT Martin’s two victories this past week at Murray State and Southeast Missouri State.
This is the fourth time this season Newsome has earned the honor.
