Amateur and aspiring photographers wanting to learn about basic camera operations and improve their photographic skills are invited to participate in Digital Photography Part I from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 6-27, in Martin. The course is offered through the University of Tennessee at Martin Office of Extended Campus and Online Studies. Dr. Tom Gallien, instructor, will discuss proper photographic exposure, composition and use of histograms. Printed and email handouts will supplement the presentations and email will be used to evaluate and critique student photographs throughout the course.
This course is designed primarily for beginning photographers, but ideas for intermediate photographers will also be discussed. Digital Photography Part I is an introductory course for the Intermediate/Advanced photography course, also offered through ECOS.
Students should bring a digital camera and its instructional manual to class if possible. A small notepad and pencil are also encouraged.
