Sam “Sonny” Vaught, 65, of Samburg died 10:20 a.m. Feb. 15, 2012, at his home.
Services will be 4 p.m. Friday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. The Rev. Dale True will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the hour of services Friday.
The family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or Baptist Memorial Hospice, 1201 Bishop S., Union City, TN 38261.
He was born Feb. 20, 1946, in Obion County, son of the late J.A. and Maxine (Baker) Vaught. He was a retired employee of Lennox Hearth Products in Union City and was an avid hunter, fisherman and Harley-Davidson rider.
He is survived by his daughter, Sonia McGee of Beaverton, Ore.; two sisters, Peggy Smith Hammond of South Fulton and Dona Dyer of Senatobia, Miss.; his brother, Milburn “Little Daddy” Vaught of Samburg; and three grandchildren, Raychyl Donovan, Cameron Donovan and Hannah McGee, all of Beaverton.
