Completed arrangements are being announced for Mai Vancleave, 84, of Samburg, who died 2:10 a.m. Feb. 15, 2012, at her home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Samburg Pentecostal Church. The Rev. Rose Huey and Chad Vancleave will officiate. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. The family will receive friends at the church after 5 p.m. today.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vancleave was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Obion County, daughter of the late Ernest Reese and Lottie Byrd (Lee) Gamble. She married John E. Vancleave Dec. 21, 1947. He survives.
She was a member of Samburg Pentecostal Church and was a homemaker.
She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Buford Kelley of Samburg; five sons and two daughters-in-law, Glen and Jo Vancleave, Jerry Vancleave and Jackie and D’Anna Vancleave, all of Samburg, Timmy Vancleave of the Shawtown community and Larry Vancleave of Union City; two sisters, Ima Jean Moore of Tiptonville and Brenda Dotson of Samburg; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Gamble; and her great-grandson, Zach Vancleave.
