The members of Lael Sunday School Class of Union City First Baptist Church gathered for their monthly meeting at the family life center recetly. Faye Passmore, vice president, opened with prayer and members repeated the pledge of faith: “God is who He says He is. God can do what He says He can do. I am who God says I am. I can do all things through Christ. God’s work is alive and active in me. I’m believing God.”
Dot Capps gave the devotional, noting that Christ created all things visible and unvisible. Christ is before all things and by Him all things consist. Christ is the head of the body of the church. He was raised victorious over death, that in all things He might have the preeminence. He conquered death at the end of His mission. He stands alone as the One who deserves supreme honor and glory.
The class donated money for Andy’s Children Ministery.
Jessie White served refreshments of Cherry Delight cake, nuts, Valentine candy, coffee and drinks.
Lena Mai Pruitt will be the March hostess.
Those attending were Pat Cunningham, Jean Eaker, Joyce Stephens, Edna McIntosh, Ms. Pruitt, Dorothy Rasberry, Ms. Capps and Mrs. Passmore.
