|Graves County invasion leaves 2 critically hurt |

|MAYFIELD, Ky. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials in western Kentucky say intruders shot a couple after forcing their way into a home. |
Two men were on the run early today after the incident in Graves County, according to WPSD-TV in Paducah (http://bit.ly/wVZpw9).
A man who lives in the home was shot and perhaps hit by intruders who knocked on a door. Graves County Sheriff’s officials said the men then went into a bedroom and shot the homeowner’s wife at least twice. Both victims were undergoing surgery for critical injuries. Investigators believe one of the victims was able to return fire and hospitals have been alerted to watch for anyone seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
Authorities said the couple’s daughter and grandchild were in the house, but were not injured.
Deputies said the intruders were white males who wore masks.
