Josephine Wesson Posted: Wednesday, February 15, 2012 3:57 pm The Messenger, February 15, 2012 Josephine Cavender Wesson, 93, of the Pleasant Hill community died 2:25 p.m. Feb. 14, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. with the Rev. Ron Newberry officiating. The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home 5-8 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Alonzo King, Paul Barger, Tim Cavender, Billy Fussell, Mike Fussell and Brandon Clayton. She was born May 17, 1918, in Obion County, daughter of the late Isaac Wix “Tid” and Ola Myrtle (Edwards) Burton. She married Charles Wesson March 12, 1993. He survives. She was a retired hairdresser and had been employed in the dietary department of the former Obion County General Hospital. She was a member of Rives Church of Christ. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Elizabeth Cavender of the Pleasant Hill community; her sister, Hazeleen (Burton) Grimes of Hornbeak; her brother-in-law, Charles V. Cavender of the Pleasant Hill community; four grandsons, David Clayton of Collierville, Tim Cavender of Dresden, Allen Cavender of Jackson and Paul Barger of Southaven, Miss.; and several great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, A.B. Cavender; her daughter, Norma Jean Clayton; two brothers; and five sisters.
