General Sessions

The following cases were disposed of Feb. 6-10 in Obion County General Sessions Court by Judge Jimmy Smith, or fines paid before scheduled court appearances, and were recorded in the dockets in the office of Obion County Circuit Court Clerk Harry Johnson.
The cases listed exclude routine traffic violations, civil cases and cases that are dismissed, unless dismissal is contingent upon costs being paid or other conditions. All others are published, including judicial diversions and deferred cases, without exception.
• Matthew E. Clayton — reckless driving, guilty of a lesser charge of drivers to exercise due care; leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and immediate notice of an accident, guilty/traffic ticket paid in full.
• Mark Stacey Cobb — driving under the influence (fourth or subsequent), guilty of a lesser charge of second offense DUI.
• James Courtney — burglary (other than habitation)/solicitation, guilty of a lesser charge of criminal trespassing.
• Keith D. Jordan — felony failure to appear, guilty of a lesser charge of misdemeanor failure to appear.
• Sara Oliver — burglary (other than habitation)/solicitation, guilty of a lesser charge of criminal trespassing; theft (up to $500), guilty as charged.
• Gary P. Shaffer — theft of property ($1,000-$10,000), guilty of a lesser charge of theft (up to $500).
• Jody B. Watts — first offense driving under the influence, guilty of a lesser charge of misdemeanor reckless endangerment/vehicle.
• Stephen M. Baldwin — first offense driving under the influence, judicial diversion for an amended charge of underage driving while impaired (18-20).
• Justin Stanfield — Schedule IV drugs/attempt, judicial diversion for an amended charge of simple possession/casual exchange.
• Carrie E. Stemm — theft of merchandise/shoplifting, judicial diversion.
• Matthew B. Barner — driving while license suspended, deferred.
• Gina L. Hatt — driving while license suspended, deferred.
• Brandon D. Jennings — driving while license suspended, deferred.
• Vincent B. Wright — criminal trespassing, deferred.
• James N. Burress — financial responsibility law violation, guilty as charged.
• Brittany A. Carter — financial responsibility law violation, guilty as charged.
• James Courtney — theft (up to $500) and resisting a stop, arrest or search, guilty as charged.
• Justin K. Craig — financial responsibility law violation, guilty as charged.
• Keith M. Fisher Jr. — public intoxication, guilty as charged.
• Crystal L. Hulsey — financial responsibility law violation, guilty as charged.
• Corey H. Johnson — two counts of vandalism (up to $500), guilty as charged.
