The Yellowjackets swept McKenzie on Thursday night, and the Chargers took two from Crockett County on Friday night in their final regular season games. Greenfield picked up a 49-32 girls’ triumph and 72-48 boys’ verdict, while Westview rolled to a 60-17 girls’ win and 74-59 boys’ verdict. Then, in the District 13A boys’ play-in game on Saturday, Gleason moved on with a 60-29 win over Carroll Academy at Clarksburg. Gleason will now visit Weakley County rival and tournament top seed Dresden in the quarterfinal round Wednesday night. The entire postseason schedule in West Tennessee was put on a one-day delay as a result of winter weather that moved through the area on Monday. Monday night’s games were moved to tonight, and tonight’s schedule shifted to Wednesday. Gleason 60, CA 29 (B) Alex Hahn scored a game-high 17 points, and Austin Perry pitched in 14 for the Bulldogs. Each player hit a pair of 3-point baskets as Gleason knocked down 11 in all. Chris Sumner hit three triples for the ’Dogs. Westview 60, CC 17 (G) Teddy Vincent outscored the Lady Cavaliers on her own with a game-best 28 points, the only player in double figures. The Lady Chargers cruised out to a 24-3 lead after one quarter and a 37-11 halftime lead. Westview then outdid Crockett County 18-2 in the third period. Westview 74, CC 59 (B) The Chargers steadily pulled away, usually three points at a time, with four players scoring in double figures. Jordan Davis had 19 points, Jazelle Baker and Javier Gordon had 13 each, and Antonio Hogard scored 10 to lead the Chargers. Westview knocked down 13 3-point baskets, Davis with four and Baker with three. G’field 49, McKenzie 32 (G) The Lady Yellowjackets grabbed an 18-4 lead after one quarter and a 38-11 lead at the half in closing the season on a strong note. Brittany Peoples scored 13 points for Greenfield, while Ashley Baker tallied 12 for the Lady Rebels. G’field 72, McKenzie 48 (B) Behind 20 points from Heath Clouse, the Yellowjackets led 29-18 at the half and then broke loose for 43 points after the intermission.
