Last week’s Cover Card winners were: Leola Rawls, Bobby Bynum, Mary Clark, Ray Crowell, Blanche Bullock, Doris Bradberry and Opal Pentecost.
For Thursday’s one-line Bingo, each participant received a chance at the snack bin. Bingo is extremely popular among the residents and we usually have a huge crowd of players. We are fortunate to have help from peers, visitors and employees.
Last week’s sporting events were not only fun, but extremely competitive. Sue Bailey was the popcorn toss champ with 320 points. Her runner-up was Barry Flowers with 310 points. Mag Yeargin finished first at lawn darts, scoring 55 points. Sue Bailey was right behind her to finish in second place with 53 points. For Strike Out, we had a tie for first place.
Bobby Bynum and Ray Crowell split the lead with an impressive 750 points. Congratulations to all our winners and the other participants because everyone did outstanding.
The January Prayer Breakfast was held Jan. 26. Last month’s speaker was Bro. Virgil Allen. He did a wonderful job with devotion and prayer service. The dietary department prepared a delicious country ham breakfast with homemade biscuits, red-eye gravy, eggs to order, oatmeal and more. They did an amazing job.
Last week’s Social Hour was a popular hit. Mostly because the residents get the choice of what is served.  They choose chips and dip along with ice cream for this week’s pleasure foods. On Jan. 30, the residents gathered for coffee break. They enjoyed cupcakes and cookies with their coffee and also played cards and games. Everyone had a great time. Another tasty activity last week was popcorn and a movie. The residents love to enjoy fresh popped popcorn from the facility machine. The delightful smell also lures in visitors and employees as well.
Bible Union Baptist Church was with us for the Jan. 25 night service. They are doing an excellent job and the residents are thrilled to have them with us now. Liberty Church of Christ and Dresden First Baptist Church provided our Jan. 29 morning worship services. They both do an amazing job and the residents greatly appreciate them coming each week. Adams Chapel Baptist Church was with us the afternoon of Jan. 29 to provide worship and song. They did a wonderful job. Thank you all for taking time out of your busy schedules to provided services for our residents.
Bancorp South has sponsored five residents with wonderful wishes for the Second Wind Dreams project.
The lucky five were drawn at random and have been receiving terrific gifts from the employees. You can see their faces light up as the Bancorp South group hand delivers their gifts. Everyone loves their presents are extremely grateful for your kindness and generosity. Thank you all!
